    Directions:
These activities outline what we will be doing in class this week. We will be learning about the Bill of Rights and how to pass a constitutional amendment. Follow the directions for each activity carefully. There will be a test on some of the material at the end of the week.
    ...
The papers should have one paragraph about your personal feelings and opinion on the topic.
If you finish your paper, save the document in your classroom folder. Remember, if it is not in there you won't receive a grade for this assignment.
    Tonight:
Study your amendment notes from Tuesday in class as we will be taking a quiz tomorrow in class.

    Friday:
Today we will be taking our Bill of rights test so take out your pencils and I will pass around the tests.

Here are a few resources I found helpful, while planning this lesson:
    U.S.Constitution.net
This website is great to help kids learn about the constitution. The wording they use is a very valuable tool to help kids understand what some of the more difficult sections of the constitution.
    Senate.gov
This website has the whole Constitution of the United States posted online. Many of the sections are accompanied with helpful information and facts to explain why they are significant. This is a government website and definitely a trusted source on this topic.
    House.gov
The House of Representatives website also has an online copy of the US Constitution. This page in particular is an extremely helpful listing of all of the Constitutional amendments up to date. This page can be referred back to when you move on to teach the civil rights amendments later, so it's a good page to bookmark.
    History.com
The History Channel website has great resource pages on anything historical that you might need. They also offer videos and interactive that you can use in any lesson. The topic section on this website is almost like a textbook of historical information and details. The constitution section has plenty of details on the subject to familiarize with.
    ConstitutionFacts.com
This website has some information, but what I found most interesting is they offer this fun little online quiz to test you constitution knowledge. This is a fun quiz to let the kids do quietly on their own.
    Mashable Entertainment
I used this website to provide an article for the video game power points. This website is a good source to seek out news articles on current topics. You can also follow certain topics on their site and be alerted to news stories that are concerning a certain topic. this can be helpful to stay up to date on current issues.
    Silicon Republic
This website is a great source for technology and media news. They have helpful and credible news articles.
    Science 2.0
This website focuses on news that is based on scientific findings. You can search certain topics and find many articles relating to them.
    University of Rochester
This university we site is like the UCF website, but it did happen to have a great article on the video game issue that I was researching for this topic. If there is a chance that more articles like this are available soon, then this might be good reference page on other topics in the future.

They will be given instructions that their paper from Thursday is due at the end of the class period and they have their remaining time to work on it.
If they finish everything I have directed them to a fun constitution Quiz online to do individually by themselves while others may be concentrating.

I will begin class by having the students take a Constitutional Amendments Scavenger Hunt.
After the students have completed the Scavenger Hunt, we will go over the answers together at the end of class, using my power point slide show I have provided. The class will turn in their papers to their classroom folder.

    Day 2
I will begin class today by showing a presentation to the class created on Prezi.com When testing the presentation, highlight "More" at the bottom and Select "FullScreen". I think this option has a better effect for the students and is less distracting. After my presentation, I will propose a new amendment to the class on violent video games. I will provide each student with a copy of my proposition. I will explain that we, as a class will be posing as the US State legislatures who get to vote on the final call of whether to pass my amendment, but first we must become informed on the topic.
